The Gothic Antagonist

Yesterday, we discussed the common characteristics of a gothic antagonist. As we read and explore more gothic fiction texts, we will look to develop, expand or remove some of these characteristics but for now, we believe that Frankenstein’s Creature displays the following traits that are believed to be common to gothic antagonists.

The class brainstormed some brief and very general examples of how The Creature displays these traits. They are now working on exploring three of these traits in further depth via an essay. They are constructing an answer to the following statement:

Analyse the extent to which Frankenstein’s Creature displays common characteristics of a gothic antagonist.
